Integration (WinZip Options)

Select the Integration tab from the WinZip Options Window to control these options:

Note: in order to change certain settings on the Integration tab, you will need administrative privileges. Windows will open the User Account Control window so you can grant WinZip the ability to make the requested changes.

Modifying the following system options will affect all users who log on to this computer:

Check for self-extracting files

When the WinZip Explorer context menu is displayed for an EXE file, WinZip can check to see if it is a self-extracting Zip or CAB file. This operation can take a few seconds; you can use the following options to control whether or not it is performed on various types of media.

Display comment tooltips for Zip files

When the mouse pointer is hovered over a Zip file (.zip or .zipx) in a Windows Explorer or My Computer window, WinZip can display a tooltip containing basic information about the Zip file, including the number of files in the Zip file and the Zip file comment. This operation may take a few seconds; you can check or uncheck the On Local hard drives, On removable disks, and On other drives checkboxes to control whether or not the tooltips are displayed on these various locations.

WinZip Express

These options allow you to enable or disable any WinZip Express addon products that may be installed. If none are installed, this section will not be shown. The WinZip Express for Explorer and WinZip Express for Office addons are installed by default (your administrator may have disabled these functions if these options are not present).
